Step 1: Go to Online Store > Themes

Log into your Shopify admin and go to Online Store>Themes.

Step 2: Edit default theme content

Click the three dots beside the Customize button and click Edit default theme content.

Step 3: Modify the Powered by Shopify fields

In the theme content editor, enter “powered” in the search bar.

Now, remove any text from the Powered by Shopify fields.

Here, you can remove the “Powered by Shopify” from the footer, checkout pages, and password page. Or you can add a custom message here to replace the default “Powered by Shopify” message with your brand name.

Click “Save” to remove the “Powered by Shopify” message from the footer.

Method 2: Remove “Powered by Shopify” via Edit Theme Code Option

Follow the below steps to learn how to remove the “Powered by Shopify” message from your website’s footer by editing the code.

Log into your Shopify store and navigate to Online Store > Themes. Click three dots beside the customize button and click “Edit code.”

In the Shopify theme editor, expand the Sections folder and select footer.liquid file.

Search for the “powered_by_link” section in the code and remove the entire line.

You can also remove the “Powered by Shopify” message from the store’s password page by removing the same section from the password-footer.liquid section file.
