How to Change Number of Lines in Street Address in Magento 2
The name and address options in Magento 2 is easy to configure with the backend options. In this post, I’ll show the method to change number of lines in street address in Magento 2.
If you are a local business having a Magento 2 store, your business requirements may include allowing customers to enter a longer address.
The address formats differ from country to country or even for different regions within the country. You may have shorter street addresses or longer.
Hence, you can edit the number of lines in the street address in Magento 2 so that customers can easily enter their accurate address while creating a new account.
Steps to Change Number of Lines in Street Address in Magento 2:
- Login to admin panel
- Navigate to Stores > Configuration
- Under Customers, select Customer Configuration
- Expand the Name and Address Options
- Change the numerical value in the field “Number of Lines in Street Address“
- Save the configuration
That’s it.

Also, do share the tutorial with the Magento community via social media.
Thank you.

Thanks a lot! Was quite helpful. Do you also know which files I need to modify to give each address field a certain label?
Hello Jonathan,
Welcome!
It is better to implement using a custom module plugin rather than changing the Magento checkout file.
