Rajasthan Diaries: Meetanshi’s Trip to Udaipur & Kumbhalgarh

“The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting!”

After working long enough, Mit Crew members thought of having a break and a cheerful Christmas celebration. But the question was how to make it more amazing? Team Meetanshi planned a trip to Udaipur & Kumbhalgarh.

Udaipur is considered one of the gorgeous destinations in the west of Rajasthan. Forts and palaces, City Palace, captivating lake Pichola, and fascinating Saheliyon Ki Bari are a few places to visit in Udaipur. The palaces and monuments hold great historical importance.

Team Meetanshi was excited and started the journey on Thursday night. After traveling for nearly 12 hours from Bhavnagar, we arrived in Kumbhalgarh early morning. The drive towards Kumbhalgarh was adventurous, and finally, we reached our destination, Dollar Villa resort.

The campus was amazing with a swimming pool, rooftop, and open dining area. Once after having breakfast and freshening up, we explored the enchanting Kumbhalgarh Fort.

Kumbhalgarh Fort was built in 15th-century with royal architecture on a hilltop 1100m above sea level on the Aravali ranges. The wall of Kumbhalgarh is the second largest in the world after the wall of China. Did you know? It also depicts the history and rich culture of the Maharanas of Mewar.

After heading towards the resort and relaxing, Mit Crew enjoyed various fun activities. Such trips can help to refresh and re-energize the workforce and builds positivity amongst the employees.

Then, we had a delicious dinner. Food brings Mit Crew together and let’s have a glimpse of famous dishes at Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh.

The most favorite part was having a bonfire on cozy winter night. It provided much relief from the cold and even enjoyed the feeling of the village environment. Lastly, the day ended with telltales on the resort’s rooftop listening to sweet songs amidst cold winter nights.

Undoubtedly, there’s nothing better than waking up in the morning with a great view and beautiful environment. After having a healthy breakfast, we set out from Kumbhalgarh in the early morning towards Udaipur.

We started our Udaipur journey with a visit to City Palace. It is one of the best places to visit in Udaipur. The palace is very impressive, and we spent nearly 4 hours taking hundreds of photos and peeking out from every window to enjoy the beautiful city’s eye-catching views.

Cut to the next; we visited Saheliyon Ki Bari, which is built near Fateh Sagar Lake. The fountains, beautiful gardens, lotus ponds, and museum offered a lifetime experience. Even words fall short of describing the beauty of this prettiest place.

Having a unique experience at Lake Pichola is one that you should not miss out! Watching a sunset is one of the most pleasant experiences that you could ever have. The sun was setting down, but the energy of Mit Crew was high. This artificial freshwater lake is named after Maharana Fateh Singh and was created in the 1680s.

By the end of the day, we even visited the local markets to purchase traditional footwear, handicrafts, and textiles. Hathi Pol Bazaar is best known for Pichwai and Phad paintings of Rajasthan.

And then, we departed our journey towards Bhavnagar. This trip to Udaipur was full of excitement and holds many outstanding memories. This is how team Meetanshi plans a trip to Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh with a fantastic learning experience.
