How to Redirect Customers to The Previous Page After Login in Magento

When a non-logged in user is surfing your site and decides to add a product to cart or write a review, you may want the user to either register or login before taking these actions. However, if after logging in, the user is not redirected on the same page to add the product to cart or to write the review, you may lose a conversion or a review for your product 🙁

The backend options allow to redirect customers to the previous page after login in Magento and Magento 2. The default setting is to redirect the customer to “My Account” section after login. The store merchants might forget to change this setting, important in contributing to enhancing the on-site experience!

How to Redirect Customers to The Previous Page After Login in Magento 2:

1. Log in to Admin Panel
2. Go to Stores > Configuration
3. Under Customers, select Customer Configuration
4. Expand the Login Options
5. Set “Redirect Customer to Account Dashboard after Logging in” to No.
6. Save configuration.

How to Redirect Customers to The Previous Page After Login in Magento:

1. Log in to Admin Panel
2. Go to System > Configuration
3. Under Customers, select Customer Configuration
4. Expand the Login Options
5. Set “Redirect Customer to Account Dashboard after Logging in” to No.
6. Save configuration.
