After GDPR came into effect from May 25, 2018, customers can ask a store to delete their account information if they want. Once the delete account is requested from a Magento customer, Magento store needs to process this request. However, Meetanshi has developed Magento Delete Account extension that allows customers to request delete account directly from their "My Account" section and confirm account deletion link in Email to permanently delete their customer account.
Magento Delete Account extension lets customers remove their Magento customer account from the Magento store. The customers don't need to create the tickets for account deletion. All they need to do is to navigate to My Account section, check "Delete My Account" and submit. Following this action, an Email with delete account confirmation link will be sent from where the customer account can be deleted permanently.
Magento Delete My Account module reduces the admin's task to delete the account manually for customers. It provides security to customers regarding their decision to delete their account or not, as it can be deleted by confirming through Email only. This eliminates the possibility of intruder deleting the customer account who may have the account credentails or accidently account deletion.
