Steps to Create Order in Magento 2 Admin Panel
Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) allows you to create orders from the backend for registered as well as new customers. Follow these steps to create order in Magento 2 admin panel:
Step 1: Go to Admin Panel > Sales > Orders
Log into your Magento 2 admin panel and go to the Orders grid to create order in Magento 2 admin panel.
Step 2: Click Create New Order
On the top-right corner of the Order Grid, click Create New Order button.
Step 3: Select Customer or Create a New One
Now, from the list of all customers, select the customer for whom you want to create the order. Alternatively, you can click Create New Customer button at the top-right corner to add a new customer.
Step 4: Add Products to Order
Once you’ve selected/created the customer, add products to the order.
You can add the products either by SKU or browse from all the available products.
Click the Add Products button on the top-right corner of the page.
Next, a list of all products available in your store will appear.
You can search for products by ID, name, SKU, and other variables.
In the list of products, check the Select box against the products, enter the respective Quantity, and click Add Selected Product(s) to Order.
In the case of configurable products, you will also need to select the configuration options.
Add Products from the Shopping Cart/Wishlist or Recently Viewed by a Customer
In the left section of the create order page, you can find the customer’s activities — items in the shopping cart, wishlist, etc.
You can also add these items to the order.
For example, here’s how to add shopping cart products to order. Tick the checkbox, as shown below, against the product, and click Update Changes.
The selected product(s) will be added to the order.
You can find the added products in the Items Ordered section.
Here, you can remove items or move them to the shopping cart/wishlist. You can also apply a coupon code/gift card to the order from here.
Step 5: Select Shipping & Billing Addresses
Once the products are added to the cart, you can move down further.
In the Account Information, you can edit the customer group and also the email address of the customer. This is optional if you want to keep the default values.
Under the Address Information, select from the existing customer address for shipping & billing. You can also enter new addresses.
Step 6: Select Payment & Shipping Methods
Next, select the preferred payment and shipping methods for the order.
The available and eligible methods will be displayed on this screen.
Optionally, you can also order a gift wrap for the order.
Step 7: Review Details & Complete Order
